Infestation

These large beetle grubs live between the turfgrass and the soil, they feed on dead organic material and turfgrass roots. After a heavy rain, many grubs will crawl to sidewalks or drive ways to escape the excess water; the large grubs are usually Green June Beetles.

Identification

They are pale yellow, with a dark brown head and a dark tail end; these larvae are C-shaped.

Control

Granular or liquid insecticides can be applied to the grass; the best time for application is late spring.
