Infestation

Large numbers may occur indoors in damp sites or close to doors to outside, at ground level. They can be in basements and baths. They don't bite but can be a nuisance by their presence.

Identification

They are 1/16 inch long, black, bluish black, or brown, and gray. The antennae are distinct in some, they all hop when disturbed.

Control

Indoors a pyrethroid spray may be used, also treat outdoors to reduce the population in the mulch; vacuuming and drying the site will help control them.
