Infestation

Stored food, such as cereal, flour, meal and cake mixes can be infested; they may be seen on book shelves and around paper. Prefer humid locations where they can use mold and fungi as food.

Identification

Very small, light color, and difficult to see; wingless and with long antennae, often run in and out of small cracks and crevices.

Control

Spray pyrethroid in non-food areas; use pyrethrins to spray food cabinets after all food is removed; vacuum infested sites to remove food debris and the psocids living in crevices along shelves.
