Infestation
These large, yellow and black spiders are common in fall near lights and shrubs around house. The web may have a zig-zag white pattern in the center, the spider is usually in the center. They do not enter or infest houses.
Identification
There are many species of orb weaver spiders, those with yellow and black coloration are the most common. They are usually large (several inches).
Control
A pyrethroid spray to the web should give control. But other spiders may take their place. Reduce outdoor lights at night.
