Infestation
Large numbers of these beetles can gather at houses in the fall, and spend winter outside and inside the house. Their presence indoors can damage furniture and carpet, and be a serious nuisance. Called the Asian ladybird beetle because it was brought to the U.S. from this region by the USDA. They can and do bite!
Identification
Red or Orange with black spots; a yellow 'M' design on the head; colors are variable
Control
Use pyrethroid spray to treat the aggregration of beetles, several applications may be needed; indoors use pyrethroid spray.
