Flour, meal, cake mixes, pasta noodles, bird seed, dry pet food, various seeds and other plant material.
Identification
Caterpillars are pale yellow, brown to green; they may crawl about cabinets, walls, or ceiling when food grown (look like maggots); moths are half brown and half gray, they may fly all over the house in evening; moths live 2-3 weeks.
Control
Remove and discard infested food, vacuum site; apply spray of pyrethrins and let dry before replacing food; use pheromone sticky traps to monitor and control infestation.
