InfestationThis is the most common dermistid found indoors, it infests a variety of materials, from fabric to leather, dead animals, and dead insects. Larvae and adults can be seen on walls and counter tops. IdentificationThe adults are mottled black and white, and crawl slowly on walls and in cabinets; the larvae are also slow moving, light to dark brown, and ringed with short hairs around their body. ControlRemove as much of the infested material as you can; a pyrethrin spray to closets can be effective. Remember that cedar will not give any protection. |
