Infestation
These beetles feed on a variety of plant and animal material, including flour and meal, wool and silk fabric, and leather products. The skins of the larvae may be found in cabinets and clothing drawers.
Identification
Larvae are banded brown and pale yellow, they have long hairs on the body and at the tail. Adults and larvae are slow moving, and may be found on walls and in cabinets.
Control
Remove and discard infested material; spray pyrethrins in food area, use pyrethroids in non-food areas.
