InfestationSeveral species of centipede can be in houses; small brown species may come in under doors; the house centipede is gray colored and has very long legs and lives entirely indoors. These animals are predators of spiders and insects. They crawl on walls and ceilings at night; they don't bite people or pets. IdentificationThey have only 1 leg per segment (millipedes have 2), they move very quickly (millipedes move slowly). ControlSpraying will not be effective; sticky traps placed where the house centipede has been seen may help. |
