Infestation
May occur in small or large number indoors; in any room of house; usually build nests in dark undisturbed areas, but may be found in clothing, boxes, and even laundry baskets. The venom damages tissue near the site of the bite; it may be slow to heal and leave a scar.
Identification
Uniform brown color, with long legs (about size of a quarter); the violin mark on the head may not be distinct. Wolf spiders look like brown recluse spiders.
Control
A thorough treatment may be necessary to eliminate an infestation - use pyrethroid. use an aerosol and sticky traps to control a small infestation.
