Infestation
Flies may be indoors around food, they fly to lights and windows; large numbers indoors may be due to dead animal inside or close.
Identification
Bright green and blue color distinguish these flies; the maggots are found in wet-decaying garbage, dead animals, sometimes in animal dung.
Control
Locate the source of infestation, usually a dead animal or rotting garbage; spray garbage site with pyrethroid to kill maggots, use granules to kill adults, UV lights can be effective indoors.
