Infestation
In various foods and animal products, such as fish meal and may be in dry pet food. Larvae may be found in furniture; cast skins found in food and clothing cabinets.
Identification
Brown larvae are banded brown/yellow and with long hairs around the body and at tail; adults oval shaped, uniformly brown.
Control
Remove, clean, and/or discard infested material; use pyrethrin spray in food areas, replace food in cabinets when spray is dry; use pyrethroids in non-food areas.
